FAQ’s

  1. I was injured before the event, can I get a refund?
    As long your request was done before the refund timeline posted above, you can avail of the refund. Request beyond the March 9, 2023 deadline, your kit is already named for you and we can release it after the race.
  2. I got covid-19 near the event and cannot participate, can I get a refund? This also falls under the refund policy.
    Request beyond the March 9, 2023 deadline means refunds aren’t available anymore. Your kit will be released after the race.
  3. I am injured/unfit/got covid19, can I transfer my kit to someone else?
    If your request is on or before March 9, 2023, we can process the transfer without any questions. Just pay the transfer fee of P700. If the request is beyond March 9, 2023, a kit has already been named for you and if you cannot race, we will keep it until you can claim it after the race.
  4. I did not get the training I wanted for the longer distance, can I switch to the shorter category?
    You can freely request category transfer until March 9, 2023. Just pay the processing fee to initiate transfer. Requests beyond March 9, 2023 will not be honored.
  5. We hope you understand that at a timeline near the race, the funds that you paid for your registration has already been used for race supplies, permits and any other expenses that the organizer will use in producing the event.

    Competitors will:
    • (i) Practice good sportsmanship at all times;
    • (ii) Be responsible for their own safety and the safety of others;
    • (iii) Know, understand and follow the ITU Competition Rules, available from their National Federations and on www.triathlon.org;
    • (iv) Obey traffic regulations and instructions from Technical Officials and marshals;
    • (v) Treat other competitors, organisers, officials, volunteers, and spectators with respect and courtesy;
    • (vi) Avoid the use of abusive language;
    • (vii) Inform a Technical Official and Event Organiser after withdrawing from the race.
    • (viii) Compete without receiving assistance other than from event personnel and officials;
    • (ix)  Not dispose rubbish or equipment around the course except at clearly identified places, such as feed stations or rubbish disposal points. All items must be kept with the competitor and returned to their transition spot;
    • (x) Not attempt to gain unfair advantage from any external vehicle or object;
    • (xi) Follow the prescribed course;
    • (xiii) Not use any device that will distract the athlete from paying full attention to their surroundings: Competitors may not use communication devices of any type, including but not limited to mobile phones, smart watches, and two-way radios, in any distractive manner during the race. A ‘distractive manner’ includes but is not limited to making and receiving phone calls, sending and receiving text messages, playing music, using social media, and taking photographs. Using a communication device in a distractive manner during the race will result in disqualification;
  • Outside Assistance:
  • a.) The assistance provided by event personnel or Technical Officials is allowed but is limited to providing drinks, nutrition, mechanical and medical assistance, upon the approval of the Technical Delegate or Head Referee. Athletes competing in the same competition may assist each other with incidental items such as, but not restricted to, nutrition and drinks after an aid station, pumps, tubular tyres, inner tubes and puncture repair kits;
  • b.) Athletes may not provide any item of equipment to an athlete competing in the same competition which results in the donor athlete being unable to continue with their own competition. This includes but is not restricted to complete bicycle, frame, wheels and helmet. The penalty for this will be disqualification of both athletes.
  • c.) An athlete cannot physically assist the forward progress of another athlete on any part of the course. This will result in both athletes being disqualified.
  • Health:
  • a.) Triathlons and GoClark’s other related multisports are strenuous. To be able to compete, athletes should be in excellent physical condition. Their health and welfare is of paramount importance. By starting in a competition, the athletes declare they are in good health and are in appropriate physical condition to complete the competition;
  • b.) Time limits for the swim leg, bike leg and overall finish time may be established for each competition by the organizer. These limits must be published in the pre-event registration material;
  • Eligibility:
  • a.) All participants must be 15 years old and above to compete in the main events of the race (unless kids’ categories are entered in the race).
  • b.) Age is determined by deducting the participant’s birth year from the year (2019).
  • Insurance:
  • a.) All participants in the event must be covered by their own personal accident insurance that will cover any accident before, during and after the race.
  • Registration
  • a.) The date of the payment in registration is the basis in determining if right amount was remitted based on early-regular-late schedule of registration fees.
  • b.) All athletes must claim their own race kit at the official competition registration area during designated times.   All participants will be required to show a government-issued ID in claiming their race kits.
  • c.)  An athlete caught using another registered person’s race kit in the competition, or allowing a non-registered person to use his/her kit will be banned from racing GoClark events for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Race Numbers:
  • a:) All athletes are required to wear their bib numbers at all times during the bike and run.  Numbers must be placed at the back for the bike and front for the vrun and must be clearly visible at all times. Numbers may not be cut or folded or altered in any way. DO NOT transfer your number to any other athlete or take a number from an athlete that is not competing.  Body marking may be required at the discretion of the race director.
  • Helmets:
  • a.) Helmets must be approved by a national accredited testing authority recognised by a National Federation affiliated with ITU;
  • b.) Helmet must be used in all official activities when the athlete rides the bike: competition, familiarisation and training sessions;
  • c.) An alteration to any part of the helmet, including the chin strap, or the omission of any part of the helmet, including an outer cloth cover, is
  • prohibited;
  • d.) The helmet must be securely fastened and fit properly at all times and any garment worn underneath must not affect the fit when the athlete  is in possession of the bike, which means from the time they remove their bike from the rack at the start of the bike leg, until after they have placed their bike on the rack at the finish of the bike leg;
  • Illegal Equipment:
  • Illegal equipment includes, but is not limited to:
  • a.) Headphone(s), headset(s), technical earplug(s) or smart helmets which are inserted or covering the ears;
  • b.) Glass containers;
  • c.) Huge container boxes in transition area which may impede transition flow
  • d.) Any flotation device including wetsuit shorts.
  • Transition Area:
  • a.)  Only participants and official race personnel are allowed inside the transition area.  No official security band means no entry.
  • b.) During bike check-in, the bike must already be equipped with official bike stickers (frame and/or seatpost sticker) and must match the number from the participant’s security band.
  • c.) Athletes must place within 0.5m of the bin all equipment to be used at a later stage in the event. If a bin is not provided, the 0.5m will be measured from the point on the ground immediately below the rack number or name plate. The bin, if provided, must be within 0.5m from the rack number or name plate. All equipment already used must be deposited in the bin, exceptions are the bike shoes, which may remain fixed on the pedals. A piece of equipment is considered deposited in the bin when one part of the equipment is inside the bin. Only equipment to be used during the competition can be left in transition. All other belongings and equipment are to be removed before competition start;
  • d.) Bike shoes, glasses, helmet, and other bike equipment can be placed on the bike in Transition 1;
  • e.) Athletes must not impede the progress of other athletes in the transition area;
  • f.) Athletes must not interfere with another athlete’s equipment in the transition area;
  • g.) Cycling is not permitted inside the transition area, except during the cycling segment. Mount and dismount lines are part of the transition area;
  • h.) Athletes must mount their bicycles after the mount line by having one complete foot contact with the ground after the mount line.
  • i.) Athletes must dismount their bicycles before the dismount line by having one complete foot contact with the ground before the dismount line.
  • j.) While in the transition area (before the mount line and after the dismount line) the bike can be pushed only by the athlete’s hands.
  • k.) If during the mount or dismount manoeuvre, the athlete loses their shoe(s) or other equipment, they will be collected by the Technical Officials and no penalty will be applied.
  • l.) Nudity or indecent exposure is forbidden;
  • m.) Athetes can not stop in the flow zones of the transition area;
  • n.) Marking positions in the transition area is forbidden. Marks, towels and objects used for marking purposes will be removed and the athletes will not be notified;
  • o.) The helmet strap must remain unfastened in the transition area while the athlete is completing the first segment.

Force Majeure:

In the event of cancellation or of definitive interruption of the competition for any reason outside the control of the Organizers, and in particular, a cancellation due to any case of force majeure, due to any decisions by public authorities ( in particular for reasons of public health, of safety or of preserving public order ) due to any risks of bad weather or bad weather conditions at the time of the event, the Organizer will incur no liability whatsoever in regard to the competitors and registration fees will not be reimbursed. The competitors hereby renounce any reclamation right of request for repayment whatsoever, either in the case of a cancellation or of a definitive interruption of the event.
